Josh and Tanyssa McGuire welcome baby number three

North Queensland Cowboys star Josh McGuire will have his hands extra full this Father’s Day as he and wife Tanyssa recently welcomed their third baby, Scarlett into the family.

The special milestone was a wonderful experience for the family, thanks to the team at Mater Mothers’ Private Townsville.

“The team were fantastic, they were very accommodating,” Josh said.

And while he felt more prepared third time around, he said the love you feel is still just as strong.

“There was excitement for each of the births of my children, and an overwhelming sense of love. You don’t know how you could love anyone as much you love your older kids but the love you feel overwhelms you once again,” Josh said.

“We’re back home now and back on nappy changes and late-night feeds—we have fallen back into the routine pretty quickly. The older kids love to help out as well.”

While Josh will be lining up against the St. George Illawarra Dragons on Sunday, he says the kids still have a surprise at home for him for Father’s Day.

“With COVID-19 restrictions we will just have something relaxing at home to celebrate Father’s Day this year. But the kids have planned a surprise for me, so I’ll look forward to that!” Josh said.

Just as his dad was very hands on, Josh tries to be involved as much as possible.

Whether I’m in the backyard playing footy with my son or taking my daughter to her dancing lessons and being involved in school activities, I try to give them as much of my time as I can,” Josh said.

“We’re a busy household, but I grew up the same way and wouldn’t have it any different.”
