Focus Group Members Wanted

Focus Group Members Wanted

UPDATE: FOCUS GROUP POSITIONS HAVE BEEN FILLED.

Mater mums are invited to participate in a focus group to inform on expanding healthcare quality and patient safety reporting.

Health Consumers Queensland is partnering with the Queensland Health Clinical Excellence Division to hear from consumers what health information about hospitals they'd like to see if an internet site was developed for the community.

This is an opportunity for consumers and carers to have a say and provide initial preliminary feedback to help inform a policy position for consideration. The focus groups will follow a group of consumer-led Kitchen Table Discussions that have been held across Queensland.

The focus group sessions will run for up to 90 minutes and attending consumers and carers will receive a $60 Coles/Myer gift voucher for their time from Health Consumers Queensland. Up to 12 consumers and carers can attend a focus group.

There will be 12 focus group sessions held across the state with one focus group held at Mater Mothers' for maternity health consumers.

Date: Wednesday 28 November 2018
Time: 10.00am – 11.30am
Location: Mater Mothers’ Parenting Support Centre, Level 7 Salmon Building, Raymond Tce, South Brisbane

Refreshments will be provided at the sessions and a $60 Coles/Myer gift voucher for your time.

Some background information on expanding healthcare quality and patient safety reporting

Last year, Queensland Health released a discussion paper to understand the views of the community about the collection, reporting and use of healthcare quality and patient safety information in Queensland. Information on the discussion paper can be found here:
https://www.health.qld.gov.au/system-governance/strategic-direction/improving-service/expanding-patient-safety-reporting.

Options on how to progress public reporting in Queensland are currently being considered, and this is not yet approved government policy.

The Queensland Health Clinical Excellence Division is seeking initial preliminary feedback from health consumers and carers to help inform a policy position for consideration.

We want to hear directly from consumers and carers who are in representative roles on what health information about hospitals they may like to see, if an internet site was developed for the community.

The focus group sessions are your opportunity to provide feedback into this project.
