2000th mum enjoys Mater care at luxury hotel

Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane has reached a new milestone after welcoming its 2000th family to Mater Moments at Emporium Hotel South Bank.

 

Mater Moments at Empoirum provides private mums birthing at Mater the chance to transition from hospital to home after the birth of their baby with a stay in a luxurious hotel at no extra cost – with the 24/7 on-site support of a Mater midwife.

 

The new Mum, her baby and partner transfer by luxury car and stay for two nights at the boutique Emporium Hotel South Bank after discharge from hospital. 

 

Mater Mothers’ Hospital Director of Clinical Services Maree Reynolds said the hospital was known for providing exceptional service to patients, which through its Caring Continues options, ensures this support on the journey home.

 

“For new mums and babies who are ready to leave hospital, The Caring Continues program offers precious time for families in beautiful surroundings with the confidence that Mater support is readily available,” Ms Reynolds said.

 

“We have found our mums want a range of options to support them in the postpartum period – and this is just one way Mater Mothers is adapting to this need.”

 

Mater Mothers’ mum Claudia Hoch welcomed her first son before the Mater Moments at Emporium service had launched, but she was very excited to access the opportunity for the second time with newborn baby Percy.

 

“It’s wonderful to receive support in a luxury environment,” Ms Hoch said.

 

“We’ve had all our babies at Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane and we’ve had great experiences with the midwives.

 

“Our eldest boys, Hugo and Angus, will get to meet their brother for the first time here, something we are very much looking forward to.”

 

Mater Mothers’ Midwife Lara Durbin said, “we are available 24/7 to help with breastfeeding, sleeping, and settling – and every newborn challenge in between that mum and dad need support with.”
