Mater Moments at Emporium welcomes 500th Family

Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane has reached a milestone welcoming 500 families to Mater Moments at Emporium Hotel which offers private mums birthing at Mater an exclusive luxury experience following the birth of their baby.

Samantha and Brent Adams were the 500th family to take up the experience following the birth of their second child Evelyn.

“We had our first baby Zachary at Mater Mothers almost two years and one week ago, it’s fantastic to come back to Mater and be able to take up this new offering,” Samantha said.

“Especially due to the COVID-19 visiting restrictions our son Zachary wasn’t able to visit his new baby sister in hospital, now we are at Emporium we are able to stay together as a family.

“We can’t thank Mater and the Emporium enough for everything they have done for us, we feel so special, we even had a cake and balloons to welcome us.”

Moments at Emporium includes two luxurious nights’ accommodation at the South Bank hotel after leaving hospital, luxury transfer from hospital to hotel (including baby capsule), three specially designed room-service meals per day for mum, and a Mater midwife on-site 24/7.

Eligible mums who are well enough to be discharged on day two (three for a caesarean birth) can relax and bond with their newborn in luxurious surroundings with the comfort of knowing a Mater midwife is available to help for things like breastfeeding, sleeping and settling.

Medical Director, Mothers Babies and Women’s Health Dr Mike Beckmann said the offering, part of its Caring Continues package, is about providing privately insured patients more options.

“Mater has bucked the national trend and has seen a significant growth in its private birth numbers over the past two years. Over this time we’ve seen mums seeking different options to transition home with their new baby,” Dr Beckmann said.

“A stay at the Emporium is a premium option for our private patients and just one of a number of options available for those birthing privately at Mater.

“New parents have an opportunity to spend precious time with their baby in an elegant, stylish river view room, with the added comfort of knowing Mater is on hand should the need for additional support arise.”

General Manager Emporium Hotel, South Bank Charles Martin said that he has been thrilled to partner with Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane for the Mater Moments at Emporium Hotel South Bank offering.

“We have enjoyed welcoming new mothers and their babies for a luxury stay in the transition between hospital and home,” Mr Martin said.

“The team at Emporium Hotel South Bank ensure that this special time is filled with some great opportunities to relax and enjoy the amenities while partners can also enjoy all that the hotel offers”.
