Mater Mothers' private hospitals

All classes are two hours long and are taught by a Mater Mothers’ registered midwife or nurse. As a mum-to-be, booked in to deliver your baby at a Mater Mothers’ private hospital, you will be able to access the Pregnancy - what to expect class for free. 

Pregnancy - what to expect

Valued at $230, free for Mater Mothers’ privately-funded women. 
Bookings are essential.

  • Hospital tour (virtual or face-to-face tour with a Mater midwife)
  • Breastfeeding class (virtual only)

To attend additional parent education classes during your pregnancy you may choose to book the below package. Alternatively, you can attend any individual class (perhaps as a refresher) for $135 per couple, per class.

Bookings—when and how

Our parent education classes are very popular so it’s important to book as early as possible, to avoid any disappointment. We recommend you book in for the classes before you are 16 weeks pregnant.

Payment is required at the time of your booking and you will receive an email confirming the details of your booking and information about your class.

We also offer Mater Mothers' First Aid for Babies classes in some locations, you can find more information and booking details here.

*Please note, Mater Mothers' First Aid for Babies classes are not included in the Bundle of Joy pogram.
