Dr Megan Castner graduated from the University of Queensland and pursued her initial medical career on the Gold Coast. After working in the UK, she returned to complete her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within South East and North Queensland hospitals, including Mater Mothers' Hospitals.
Dr Castner continues to marvel at the uniqueness of each birth experience and feels privileged to be part of each journey.
Dr Castner now has two private, experienced Mater midwives she works with who provide some antenatal visits, additional antenatal education and discussion about labour and birth. These same midwives will then provide continuity for labour and birth or at a planned Caesarean section and then at home postnatal visits. This is an opt-in model.
