“Despite being involved in obstetrics for over 30 years, I still get the same joy as the first birth I ever witnessed.” — Dr Di Poad
Dr Di Poad offers her obstetric services as part of a group practice with five other female obstetricians. Together they work to provide expert care to their patients; respond to urgent care needs; and achieve a work-life balance while still meeting all patients needs. Dr Poad loves to help women and their families understand their own unique situation so that they can make safe, positive decisions around their pregnancy.
With years of experience in high level complex Obstetrics; as well as four pregnancies of her own, each with complications and different birthing methods; Dr Poad is well positioned to deal with any issues that arise during a pregnancy or birth, usually because she has seen (or done) it all before. Dr Poad works with her patients to facilitate their birthing wishes, but her best advice to all pregnant women is to expect the unexpected and keep the eye on the main prize—a healthy mum and baby, with minimal stress.
Dr Poad now has two private, experienced Mater midwives she works with who provide some antenatal visits, additional antenatal education and discussion about labour and birth. These same midwives will be with you, providing continuity of care for your labour and birth, or at a planned Caesarean section, and then support your transition home with postnatal visits at no additional cost. This is an opt-in model.
