Welcome to Mater Mothers

We're so excited to welcome Mater Mothers' Private Mackay, Rockhampton and Townsville to the Mater Mothers family—continuing our care for more than 12 000 Mater little miracles across the state.

Since 1960, Mater Mothers' Hospitals have been privileged to play a special role in many families' beautiful moments everyday, and we would love to be part of yours.

Mater Mothers' Hospitals is one of Australia’s largest and most experienced maternity service providers, delivering more than 12 000 babies every year. We share in these beautiful moments across five leading private maternity hospitals, Mater Mothers’ Private BrisbaneMater Mothers’ Private Redland, Mater Mothers' Private Mackay, Mater Mothers' Private Rockhampton, and Mater Mothers' Private Townsville. We also have a public maternity hospital in South Brisbane.

Featuring state-of-the-art facilities and access to a comprehensive selection of support services, Mater Mothers is second-to-none when it comes to providing compassionate and holistic care for our community.

Are you expecting? Congratulations!

The first step is to visit your GP for a check-up to confirm your pregnancy and request a referral to one of our maternity hospitals.

If you plan to have your baby at one of our private hospitals, you will need to ask your GP to refer you to a private obstetrician who practices at Mater. Prior to your GP visit, it is helpful for you to know which obstetrician you would like to manage your private maternity care.

Providing exceptional care and support every step of the way

We are committed to providing the very best maternity care, welcoming each new baby into the world and supporting each family.

Having a baby is an exciting time and we want to ensure that your baby receives the best possible start in life—we’re here to support you through preconception, pregnancy, birth and early motherhood, making Mater Mothers the perfect place to start your journey.
